Fermin S. Tabanda, MD, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, is the President and CEO of Northwest Expert Coders, LLC - A leading Pacific Northwest-based coding consulting company specializing in coding and reimbursement. Fermin completed his doctrine at Far East University – NRMF, Manila, Philippines. He has worked as a coder and a consultant with various types of hospitals and institutions within the states of Alaska, Oregon, Wyoming and Washington since 1984. Fermin is an active member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
Nanci Parker, RHIA, is the Director of EMR and the Consulting Division for NEC. Nanci works fulltime for NEC. She has over thirty years experience in the healthcare field both in HIM and IT. Her primary roles have been in managing HIM departments, where she has implemented numerous systems including trancription and coding systems. Nanci's most recent experience has been evaluating and implementing the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for large healthcare corporations. Nanci is an active member of AHIMA and AAPC.
